Gender and Women’s Studies Prizes and Awards

THE TONI CLARK PRIZE IN GENDER AND WOMEN'S STUDIES

History

This prize was established in 1974 and initially named The Commission on the Education of Women President’s Prize in Gender and Women’s Studies to encourage original scholarly and creative work by students on the topic of women in all fields of the curriculum.  To commemorate Professor Emeritus of English, Associate Dean of Students, and Dean of Women Toni Clark’s contributions to Gender and Women’s Studies, then-President David Oxtoby renamed the prize in her honor after she passed away in 2016.  One or two awards will be made to the best entry(ies) on a thesis relating to gender and women’s studies.

Announcement

Prize winners will be announced at Class Day and listed in the Commencement program. All prize winners will be invited to present at the Women’s Union at noon on the Thursday preceding Alumni Weekend.
